The Mind-Body Connection. It's Activation Time!
The Mind-Body Connection. It's Activation Time!
Have you ever gone through a stage in life (maybe you’re in one now or maybe it’s a perpetual stage) where in order to feel comfortable you need to put on your loosest fitting pants. I know when those times have hit me (and it’s usually after the summer is over!) I feel worn down, sluggish, scatter brained and unhealthy.
Your physical condition has a huge impact on your mental state. Being unfit and sedentary can take a toll on those depression thoughts creeping in. Negativity abounds. Which makes it even harder to get off the couch and take action.
But the OPPOSITE is true as well:
Your mental state also has a huge impact on your physical self! When I used to want to take a day off work, I’d psych myself up “feeling sick” so that I could call in and just recharge at home. But when I did that, instead of requesting a mental health day, I focused on trying to make myself sound sick or feel a sick so that I wasn’t lying. And it turned out that I actually began to feel worse as the day wore on. Which goes back to my opinion that MINDSET IS EVERYTHING!
And to go one step further and take better care of your physical self, you have to believe you are worth the effort. You have to know you can do it - that you are truly capable of achieving any health goal you set for yourself (because you absolutely ARE).
When you feel healthy and strong in your body, you feel healthier and stronger in your mind and heart.
So I’d love to share a 30 day challenge with you. I would love for you to repeat the following affirmation to yourself every morning before you get out of bed and every evening before you go to sleep:
I deserve to feel healthy and strong.
I am good to my body and my body is good to me.
I am grateful to my body for everything it does.
I love and accept my body completely.
I give thanks for ever-increasing health, beauty & vitality.
If you repeat this to yourself every day for 30 days, I guarantee you will find it so much easier to focus on a healthy body and healthy mind.
